Job Summary
Registered Nurse Associate role within community inpatient units. The post, regulated by the Nursing and Midwifery Council, works alongside Registered Nurses and Rehab Care Assistants to provide highest quality patient‑centred care. Holders must register and re‑validate with the NMC as per registration requirements for practice in England.
The role bridges the gap between Rehab Care Assistants and Registered Nurses, participating in ongoing assessment processes and implementing planned care within a 24/7 physical health inpatient unit. The team includes a Ward Matron, Team Leaders, Staff Nurses, unregistered staff, therapy MDT, medical staff and wider trust colleagues. Care is provided for patients specialising in rehabilitation (and palliative care in the Danetre Hospital unit).
The service offers sub‑acute care and rehabilitation for patients stepping down from acute hospitals, step‑up patients from the community and admission avoidance into acute hospitals where suitable.

Person Specification Essential – Qualifications- Active Nurse Associate registration with NMC
- Level 5 Foundation Degree or equivalent
- Ability to deliver safe patient care, including medicine administration
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Basic IT and electronic patient record skills
- Able to deliver care that includes moving & handling
- Friendly, approachable, team‑focused attitude
- Professional manner; upholds NMC Code
- Flexible to work days, nights, weekends and bank holidays
- Previous inpatient/rehabilitation care experience
- Additional relevant care certificates or post‑reg training
- Able to record and report physical observations, ECG
- Understanding of sub‑acute rehab & palliative care
- Experience using Systm One or similar EPR
- Able to deliver care that includes moving & handling
- Friendly, approachable, team‑focused attitude
- Professional manner; upholds NMC Code
- Flexible to work days, nights, weekends and bank holidays
