Pri Derm Community Dermatology Service is excited to welcome a new administrator to our friendly admin team! This opportunity would be perfect for a young, dynamic individual who is eager to learn and get involved in all areas of administrative work. We’re looking for someone enthusiastic, willing to grow, and ready to become a valued part of our service.
The role is working Monday to Thursday until 5:30pm and Fridays until 4:30pm (start time to be confirmed). Please note that this position does not include an NHS pension.
Job Responsibilities- Respond to telephone calls in a timely, professional and helpful manner, taking messages with accuracy and obtaining sufficient patient details.
- Ensure all patients booked into clinics have their appointment and intention to attend confirmed in a timely fashion, and book patients into cancellation slots at short notice as required.
- Deal with all general enquiries, explain procedures and make new and follow‑up appointments.
- Use your own judgement and communication skills to ensure patients with no prior appointment but who need an urgent consultation are seen in a logical and non‑disruptive manner.
- Explain Pri Derm service arrangement and formal requirements to new patients and ensure procedures are completed.
- Ensure correspondence, reports, and other documentation are filled promptly and in the correct records, ensuring all recent correspondence is available when patients attend their consultation.
- Scan and update medical records as directed by the partners.
- Complete all admin work for month end including 18‑week waits, read codes, follow‑ups and discharges.
- Ensure all test results and referral letters are present for consultations.
- Excellent telephone manner
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to organise and prioritise a varied workload
- Good at working within a team and on own initiative
- Full Driver’s Licence with business insurance
- GCSE grade 5 or above in English and Maths
