Our client, a technology company based in Thornbury, Bradford, develops monitoring devices used for refrigeration environments for intracellular fluid. They are seeking an IoT Systems Engineer to support the deployment, integration and operation of their connected monitoring systems.
This role is primarily site-based, with occasional customer visits in the UK and abroad. A driving licence and valid passport are required.
Key Responsibilities- Deploy and support IoT systems using Node-RED, including building data flows and integrations.
- Configure and manage IoT devices and gateways, including LoRaWAN (Chirp stack).
- Maintain secure data pathways using HTTP/MQTT, APIs and industrial protocols (Modbus-TCP, OPC-UA).
- Commission and troubleshoot edge devices and networks on-site.
- Maintain dashboards in Things Board and support a small legacy IIS/SQL Server setup.
- Contribute to scaling from early pilots (~100 devices) to larger rollouts.
- Experience with Node-RED
- Hands-on with LoRaWAN devices/platforms (e.g., Chirp stack)
- Knowledge of Modbus-TCP, OPC-UA
- Understanding of secure networking (VPNs, NSGs, Cloudflare)
- Familiarity with HTTP/MQTT and JSON data
- Things Board customisation
- Exposure to IIS + SQL Server
