Electrical Reliability Engineer – Yorkshire Water
We are searching for an experienced Electrical Reliability Engineer to join our Maintenance Design and Assurance Team and help deliver high‑quality water and wastewater services across Yorkshire.

Location & Work TypeLocation: Hybrid Working – 1–2 days in the office a week across Yorkshire.
Work type: Permanent, 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday.
As our Electrical Reliability Engineer you will:
- Develop, implement and optimise asset‑specific electrical equipment maintenance strategies and overall asset technical practices and standards.
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of the asset preventative maintenance programme for electrical assets.
- Compile and maintain asset criticality and equipment risk registers.
- Lead the review of electrical assets maintenance performance and reliability data to identify critical assets and risks to the business and instigate actions.
- Conduct root cause analyses (RCA’s) for short, medium, and long‑term issue resolution.
- Develop, implement and maintain key reliability improvement processes across the YW electrical assets – including RCM, Criticality Analysis.
- Investigate and resolve RCFA issues for worst‑performing or costly equipment.
- Provide documented evidence of improvements and savings, highlighting risk to the business.
• Apply reliability improvement techniques and practices.
• Manage and maintain reliable electrical asset portfolios.
• Embody and promote change management within maintenance processes.
• Collaborate with multiple departments and stakeholders to deliver reliable services.
- Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Relevant electrical maintenance experience.
- Significant knowledge and application of reliability improvement techniques and practices.
- Broad experience with electrical equipment maintenance.
- Extensive experience using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS, e.g. SAP S4) to develop reliability reports and analyse data.
- Previous experience supporting and embedding change.
- Valid driving licence and flexibility to travel across Yorkshire.
- Effective communication at multiple levels and departments within the organisation.
- Proficiency in Excel.
- Water industry experience.
- Competitive salary (£48,250 – £60,313, depending on experience).
