Key Responsibilities as Welding Inspector- Conduct thorough visual and dimensional inspections of welds and fabricated components to ensure compliance with industry and project standards.
- Prepare and control welding and manufacturing documentation, specifications, and quality records.
- Oversee welder testing, qualifications, and implementation of inspection and test plans.
- Monitor interpass temperatures, heat input checks, and dimensional accuracy.
- Identify and record non-conformities, managing rectification and retesting where required.
- Coordinate non-destructive testing (NDT) internally and externally.
- Audit welding processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Champion Lean methodologies to enhance efficiency and quality.
- CSWIP 3.1 OR 3.2 / PCN Level 2 Welding Inspector.
- PCN Level 2 Visual Testing certification.
- NACE Coatings Inspection certification (BONUS, not essential to apply).
- Understanding of welding techniques, materials, coatings and industry standards.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency with inspection tools and equipment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safety and quality excellence.
- IT proficiency (Microsoft Word & Excel).
- NDT certifications (MPI / UT – Magnetic Particle Inspection or Ultrasonic Testing).
- Experience with Hot Dye Galvanising, High Coat NACE Level 2, or ICORR.
- Background in Welding Engineering, Supervision or Leadership roles.
- Up to 40 days holiday; 25 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays (option to buy/sell 5 days + volunteer days) — competitive salary and shift allowance.
