Job SummaryTo produce accurate and detailed 3D models and 2D drawings. A BIM modeller works under direction from an Engineer or BIM Coordinator/BIM Manager following the data flow as specified in the BIM methodology. They produce work in accordance with the workflow/BEP, support in the federation model process, and resolve coordination issues identified.
Core Responsibilities- Utilise Bentley Project Wise with Open Building Designer, and Micro Station for detailed 3D CAD model creation and documentation, ensuring models are fully coordinated and by using clash avoidance tools which are embedded within the digital twin used on the project.
- Liaise with discipline BIM leads to ensure optimized clash results using suppression rules based on modelling methods.
- Support the production of high‑quality 3D CAD models and detailed construction drawings for specific elements of railway station projects, ensuring integration with overall project information models.
- Produce model geometry and information in line with the Component Catalogue and outline information within the BIM Execution Plan (BEP).
- Ensure all models that are submitted, meet the project requirements set out, and ensure systems are in place for clash avoidance, internal model audits and clash detection before model submission.
- Support and liaise with the BIM Coordinator, BIM Manager and wider project joint‑venture team in the implementation of deliverables adhering to specified project standards and to facilitate issue resolution.
- Assist in the maintenance of the project’s Project Wise Common Data Environment, ensuring accurate and timely information flow and adherence to data management standards.
- Participate in quality assurance checks to ensure they meet the project’s accuracy, detail, and the employer’s information requirements.
- Support the management team in client meetings for technical issues
- Proactively review design documentation to ensure compliance to standard and requirements
- Projects for multiple commissions across the UK and International business
- Support in development and improvement of our BIM processes/protocols for input data management and external deliverables / published documentation
- 4-6 years of experience in Engineering / Technical functions, with at least 2 years’ experience as a BIM Modeller in major infrastructure/transportation projects.
- Good communication skills in digital management.
- Good attention to detail.
- Effective time management and flexibility.
- Experience with data management and integration tools.
- Excellent understanding of all relevant BIM standards, design integration procedures and relevant legislation.
