Job Description

Position Overview:

As a Pharmacy Technician, you will perform technical and clerical functions in designated areas such as inpatient pharmacy and oncology pharmacy. Responsibilities include medication dispensing, order entry, inventory management, sterile and hazardous drug preparation, manufacturing, and quality improvement activities.

Requirements
  • Pharmacy Technician Diploma from a CCAPP-accredited college
  • Registered or eligible for registration with the Ontario College of Pharmacists
  • At least 1 year of related experience, including sterile preparation and hazardous drug handling
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Commitment to SHN’s Code of Conduct and a positive, safe work environment
  • Ability to utilize protective equipment and report hazards
  • Ethical conduct and appreciation for diversity
  • Strong work performance and attendance record
Assets
  • Experience in hospital inpatient pharmacy
  • Experience in chemotherapy preparation
  • Familiarity with pharmacy automation systems like Omnicell, Pyxis, and EPIC
  • Multilingual abilities
