City of Brampton - Full Time Rapid Response
Position:
Full-Time Rapid Response Guard
Location:
150 Central Park Drive, Brampton, ON
Hours:
Continental Days ) – Overtime averaging agreement after 88 hours.
Payrate: $19.10 per hour.
Responsibilities- Provide a uniform security presence at City of Brampton locations including Rose Theatre, City Hall, Civic Centre and other downtown facilities.
- Respond to and report all incidents of criminal activity, suspicious activity and hazardous situations.
- Unlock and lock doors and offices; provide access control.
- Deterring and enforcing prohibited acts such as loitering, panhandling, smoking, skateboarding and cycling.
- Ensure the buildings are secured after hours and monitor and authorize entrance/departure of employees, visitors and other persons.
- Complete patrols with an electronic guard tour.
- Investigate security alarms and emergencies promptly and professionally to avoid public panic.
- De‑escalate crises, provide support and liaise with emergency personnel (police, fire, paramedic).
- Maintain logs of key, radio and pager usage; manage lost & found items and inquiries.
- Report unsafe working conditions and incident details in written reports.
- Provide first‑aid and medical response when required.
- Minimum two years of security guard experience in a municipal, government or corporate environment.
- Dispatch or mobile experience is an asset.
- Post‑secondary education in a related field is an asset.
- Excellent communication and customer‑service skills.
- Valid Security License for the Province of Ontario.
- Current First Aid/CPR certification.
- Valid Ontario G‑class driver’s licence and 3‑year clean driver’s abstract.
- Excellent verbal and written English; bilingual/multilingual preferred.
- Ability to work alone or in a team.
- Must participate in professional development and meet on‑site training within 30 days of hire.
- Provide or obtain Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) certifications or participate in Paladin’s program prior to onboarding.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid G Licence.
- Standard First Aid, CPR Level
C. - Valid Ontario Security License.
