About the Role:As a
Logistics Specialist within Victaulic's Corporate Supply Chain, you will play a crucial role in supporting our global logistics operations. You will be responsible for coordinating shipments, analyzing transportation data, and optimizing our supply chain through
process improvement initiatives. Your
analytical skills and
attention to detail will be essential in achieving our strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:Freight Payment and Logistics Operations:Provide backup for freight payment functions and create monthly accrual and accounting/aging reportsAnalyze carrier contracts, rates, and tariffs to ensure accurate billing and resolve disputesMonitor and support freight bills for compliance to approved contractsObtain spot quotes and assist with carrier negotiations to leverage best-in-class pricing and performanceCoordinate and execute shipments of finished goods and bulk materials (domestic and international)Utilize Harmonized Tariff to classify international shipmentsAnalyze and forecast future transportation needsScheduling and Tactical Operations:Schedule trucks and manage day-to-day transportation logisticsPrepare domestic and international shipping documentationMonitor general Logistics email for shipment generation, resolution, and expeditesProvide cross-functional support for non-customer order shipments and rate quotesStakeholder Management:Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders including carriers, freight forwarders, and internal departmentsBuild and leverage strong relationships with internal customers and key carriers to meet cost, quality, and delivery targetsConduct regular meetings with stakeholders to ensure optimal shipment handling and prioritizationProcess Improvement and Data Analysis:Challenge and optimize existing shipping processes through data-driven analysisDrive and implement process improvement initiativesBenchmark costs, processes, and technology to continually improve performanceDevelop and maintain data overviews, KPIs, and standard processesLead monthly and quarterly financial presentations on freight expenses, utilization, and efficiencyAssist with development and distribution of weekly/monthly reports on freight expenses and logistics performanceCustoms Compliance (Bonus):Assist with analysis of export and import regulationsCoordinate with staff on transaction due diligence and trade compliance recordkeepingProcess and validate import shipping documentation, including Post Entry AuditsSupport preferential treatment calculations under Free Trade AgreementsQualifications:College or University degree in Logistics, Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain Management an asset, or 5+ years' experience in logistics operationsStrong analytical skills with a keen eye for detailExcellent interpersonal and communication abilitiesDemonstrated ability to quickly grasp complex carrier contracts, pricing structures, and industry regulationsProven capacity to handle a high volume of tasks while maintaining accuracy and efficiencyProficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and Access1-3 years of experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, Manufacturing, or Finance (preferred)Experience with AS-400 (BPCS) an assetKnowledge of MRP information systems to perform business transactionsExperience in Customs Compliance (preferred)Attention to detail and ability to work calmly under pressureSalary: $70k+Victaulic is proud to be an
