About This OpportunityThe Quality Assurance FSQA Technician (Auditor) is responsible for auditing product at Canada Packers Brandon to ensure adherence to product specifications. The incumbent liaises with production supervisors and employees to ensure understanding of product specifications and assists in maintaining ongoing compliance with food safety programs.

Responsibilities- Develop solutions to repetitive failures and all other problems that adversely affect plant operations.
- Maintain flexibility in working hours to accommodate production shifts and position responsibilities.
- Audit product according to specifications and identify any quality issues.
- Monitor temperature using a digital thermometer as required.
- Perform follow‑ups to corrective actions for customer complaints and/or failed audits.
- Audit GMPs.
- Audit and verify the HACCP system.
- Enter data daily as required.
- Provide timely feedback to Production Supervisors on all audit findings.
- Keep daily documentation of all audit results, identified non‑compliances, and appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
- Assist in Six Sigma projects as needed.
- Perform sampling and testing on the dressing floor to ensure plant compliance with CFIA’s MCIP program and the plant’s internal CCP (CCP 2B).
- Prevent the ongoing production of non‑compliant product when non‑conformities are observed or identified.
- Control any non‑compliant product that has been produced, perform a food safety assessment, and determine appropriate disposition.
- Other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
- Demonstrated ability to follow cut sheets, understand written product specifications, SOPs, regulatory requirements, etc.
- Confident communication with plant supervisors, management, and CFIA.
- Strong interpersonal, team‑building, and communication skills (verbal, written, listening).
- Attention to detail and ability to function in a fast‑paced production environment.
- Dependability in current position (attendance and performance).
- Computer literacy with understanding of MS Office programs – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Understanding of HACCP & food safety is a definite asset.
- Experience in the fresh pork industry, knowledge of meat cuts and food quality issues, is a definite asset.
