Full‑Time, flexible to mutually agreed upon hours, as required at peak times (i.e., month‑end, fiscal year‑end, etc.).
Position DescriptionJacobson & Greiner is currently hiring full‑time position of Accounting Manager. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for coordination of all accounting operational functions in a growing retail business.
Job Duties- Ensuring day‑to‑day transactions such as accounts payable, cash receipts and accounts receivable, credit card transactions, and payroll are recorded properly.
- Prepare and submit progress payment requests in accordance with contract terms and project milestones.
- Prepare and post timely, accurate month‑end journal entries and perform balance sheet reconciliations; maintain up‑to‑date and accurate accounting schedules.
- Prepare monthly financial statements in accordance with internal and external reporting requirements.
- Compile year‑end working papers and documentation for the external accountant.
- Prepare and file all required government remittances in a timely and compliant manner.
- Generate internal management reports as required to support strategic business decisions.
- Collaborate with other accounting team members to achieve departmental goals and support overall organizational success.
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting and/or Business Administration.
- Minimum 5 years experience in an accounting role with direct experience in preparing monthly financial statements.
- CPA designation or current pursuit of a CPA designation is considered an asset, but not required.
- Experience working with retail stores and/or construction is an asset.
- Ability to work in a team setting and independently.
- Ability to manage workflow to hit deadlines.
- Exceptional time management skills, working in a fast‑paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate complex issues to senior management.
- Experience with Sage 300 and advanced Excel functions is considered an asset.
