Overview
We are looking for qualified professionals to serve as Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to consult on the development and design of the courses in our accredited Pharmacy Technician program.
Responsibilities- Content Development:
Collaborate with the project team to develop, source, and review course content; this includes the creation of video content for each applicable course. - Assessment and Evaluation:
Lead the revision and creation of assessment and evaluation instruments in collaboration with the project team. - Laboratory Lesson Plans:
Create lesson plans and materials for on-campus delivery. - Industry Expertise:
Provide expert insight into current pharmacy practices, technologies, and regulations to ensure the curriculum is relevant and prepares students for the realities of the workplace. - Resource Curation:
Recommend and evaluate a variety of learning resources, such as textbooks, articles, lab supplies, and educational software. - Review and Feedback:
Participate in review cycles, offering constructive feedback to refine and improve the quality of the course materials.
- Registered and in good standing with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP) to practice in Alberta as a registered Pharmacy Technician or a registered Pharmacist.
- A minimum of three years of recent, practical experience in a pharmacy setting (hospital, community, or other relevant practice).
- Strong understanding of national and provincial pharmacy technician competencies.
- Excellent written communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with a team.
- Prior experience in curriculum development, teaching, or precepting is considered a strong asset.
- A certificate in Adult Education is an asset.
- Experience with Desire2
Learn learning management system is an asset. - Proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and standard computer applications.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
