We are looking for an experienced Piping Construction Engineer to play a key role in delivering piping installation works at a landmark nuclear new-build project shaping the UK’s low-carbon future.

This is a hands-on, site-based role where you’ll lead piping construction activities from installation through to testing and pre-commissioning, working closely with contractors, engineering teams, and project stakeholders to ensure safe, high-quality, and on-schedule delivery.

What You’ll Be Doing

Construction Supervision & Coordination

  • Lead and oversee the installation of piping systems, including pipework, supports, and associated components
  • Ensure all works are delivered safely, to specification, and in line with project quality standards

Technical Leadership

  • Review and interpret piping drawings, isometrics, specifications, and method statements
  • Provide on-site technical guidance to contractors and construction teams

Safety, Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure full compliance with UK nuclear regulations, CDM requirements, and project QA/QC standards
  • Actively promote a strong HSE culture, identifying risks and driving mitigation measures

Progress & Problem Solving

  • Monitor construction progress, report on performance, and proactively address schedule risks
  • Resolve technical and construction issues such as clashes, tolerances, or material constraints

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Coordinate with subcontractors, client representatives, and multidisciplinary engineering teams
  • Support testing, pressure testing, flushing, and pre-commissioning activities

What We’re Looking For

Essential

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical, Piping, or a related engineering discipline
  • Proven experience delivering piping construction works in the nuclear sector
  • Strong understanding of nuclear safety standards and regulated QA/QC environments
  • Experience working on complex, highly regulated construction projects
  • Confident communicator with strong leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working on-site in a fast-paced construction environment

Desirable

  • Experience in large-scale infrastructure or major energy projects
  • Knowledge of welding processes, NDT, material control, and installation tolerances
  • Experience working with international teams and subcontractors
  • Familiarity with 3D BIM models, digital engineering tools, or piping design software

Why Join?

This is a rare opportunity to contribute to a nationally significant nuclear project, working at the forefront of complex engineering and construction delivery. You’ll be part of a collaborative, high-performing team helping to shape the future of UK energy infrastructure.

If you’re a driven Piping Construction Engineer with nuclear experience and a passion for delivering technically challenging projects, we’d love to hear from you.
