** Salary:** £14.50 per hour## About the Role We are seeking a skilled and personable Maintenance Officer to join our team at The Maltings. You will be responsible for ensuring our brand new 59-bed care home and all its facilities remain in safe and excellent working order, creating a comfortable and secure environment for our residents, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities
* Perform regular maintenance tasks throughout the care home, including basic plumbing, electrical work, and decorating
* Carry out routine checks and inspections of the premises, monitoring and actioning any maintenance issues found
* Ensure the home and grounds are maintained to the highest standard
* Test fire systems and carry out PAT testing on electrical equipment
* Respond promptly to maintenance requests and ensure repairs are completed efficiently
* Coordinate larger projects or faults with senior management and specialist contractors
* Maintain accurate records of all maintenance work, safety checks, and inspections
* Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations
* Report any equipment defects and withdraw dangerous items from service immediately
* Maintain gardens, grounds, and external areas to a high standard
* Assist with basic IT issues as required
* Monitor company vehicles and ensure safety compliance
* Be sensitive to the needs of residents and work in a manner that minimises disruption
* Ensure safe storage and use of tools and materialsQualifications
* Relevant building maintenance experience with at least one trade skill[web: 23]
* Sound understanding of main Health and Safety legislation[web: 28]
* Experience of PAT testing and fire system testing is desirable
* Practical, hands-on approach with excellent problem-solving skills
* Ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple tasks
* Good communication skills and a friendly, approachable manner
* Experience in a care home environment is desirable but not essential
* Full driving licence preferred
* Basic IT skills
