You will assess and treat occupational dysfunction as part of a multidisciplinary team, under the supervision of a senior OT. Job responsibilitiesWe are recruiting a Band 5 Occupational Therapist to join the high‑support inpatient rehabilitation service for men at Cygnet Lodge Brighouse.
You will maintain and develop the Occupational Therapy department, providing assessment and treatment under senior supervision, and promoting independence for service users.
Key responsibilities include:
- Hold a caseload and utilise effective clinical decision‑making to assess, implement and evaluate care.
- Complete full Everything of patients occupational performance including self‑care, productivity and leisure.
- Implement specialist group and individual treatments to achieve therapeutic goals.
- Complete all necessary clinical documentation in accordance with professional standards.
- Provide professional occupational therapy advice to individuals, carers and colleagues.
- Deliver an evidence‑based service with measurable outcomes to evaluate the value and impact of OT.
- Support and lead the supervision of Occupational Therapy Assistants, ensuring compliance with policies, reporting relevant issues to Head OT and managing sickness and time.
- An awareness of and understanding of different mental health conditions.
- Knowledge of a secure ward environment and associated risks.
- Experience facilitating groups and activities.
- Ability to work independently.
- Effective communication, organisational skills and a positive attitude.
- A Registration with HCPC and an Occupational Therapy degree.
