Project Controls Consultant

Project Controls is more than reporting progress. It's understanding how cost, schedule, risk and change affect delivery.

I'm recruiting Project Controls Consultants and Managers for permanent roles supporting major infrastructure and capital programmes across South West England and South Wales.

This is generalist Project Controls. The focus is on bringing cost, schedule, risk, change and performance information together so delivery teams can understand where a project stands and what needs attention.

• £40K-£70K depending on your experience and the level of appointment
• Permanent consultancy positions with regional bases in various locations in Bristol, the South West and South Wales
• Hybrid working, with travel to regional client sites. Office and client-site attendance depends on the specific assignment

• Analysing costs, schedules, risks, changes and performance trends, rather than simply assembling reports
• Reviewing forecasts, variances, baselines and project health information
• Helping project managers and clients understand emerging delivery issues and practical options
• Supporting governance, controls processes and performance reporting

At mid and senior levels, you'll need hands-on experience across more than 1 Project Controls area. At developing level, a strong foundation in planning, cost, risk or analytical PMO work could provide a route into broader controls.

Experience in infrastructure, transport, utilities, energy, construction or related complex programmes is relevant. NEC familiarity, EVM, P6 and professional qualifications can be useful but are not universal requirements.

This is not aimed at people whose work is limited to administrative PMO reporting or Project Managers without direct Project Controls experience.
