Area Sales Manager – Roofing & Waterproofing Systems

Industry Sector:

Areas to be covered:
South – ideally based centrally

Remuneration: £50,000-£65,000 + £30,000-£40,000 Uncapped Commission

Role
  • Field sales position selling liquid roofing systems for waterproofing or full built‑up roofing;
  • Majority of time gaining specifications with building surveyors, some architects, health authorities, education and major specifiers;
  • Occasional work with specialist quality waterproofing & roofing sub‑contractors to secure projects and ensure professional completion;
  • Year one target threshold circa £300,000+, target circa £1.3 m;
  • Maximise profit through price and discount management;
  • Refurbishment focussed;
  • Project sizes vary from 200 m² to 4,000 m² (typical £30–£40 / m² for waterproofing and £70–£80 / m² for full built‑up roofing);
  • Clients include local authorities, retailers, manufacturers and large residential projects.
Ideal Applicant
  • Specification field sales experience with building surveyors;
  • Ability to write specifications and conduct CPD seminars;
  • Open to product backgrounds such as concrete repairs, flooring, waterproofing, and roofing systems;
  • Specific knowledge of liquid applied/flat roofing, waterproofing, insulation, roof lights, edge trims, VCL is not essential;
  • Leverage existing contacts with building surveyors and architects where possible;
  • Some technical capability;
  • Intelligent, empathetic and driven;
  • No job hoppers – no more than 3 jobs in the last 6 years (unless strong reasons);
  • Hunts for new projects while building and retaining relationships;
  • Energy and enthusiasm to sell a solution rather than price; able to up‑sell;
  • Not afraid of heights.
