The OpportunityOur award‑winning landscape architecture practice is growing, with teams connected through a global network. In the UK offices are located in London, Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Leeds, Newcastle, Sheffield and Winchester, and we regularly collaborate with international offices in Brisbane, Hong Kong, New York and Sydney. The integrated team comprises landscape designers and planners, working on projects ranging from landscape assessment and strategy, LVIA, green infrastructure strategies, concept design, master planning, detailed design, landscape management, visualisations and 3D modelling.
Projects span environmental infrastructure, major transportation, restoration, town centre regeneration, streetscape design and green buildings, serving diverse high‑profile clients across the UK and internationally.
We are looking for a talented Landscape Architect or a Senior Landscape Architect to join our growing team across the Midlands, based in our new Birmingham City Centre office. Flexible collaboration and hybrid working options are available.
ResponsibilitiesAs a Landscape Architect within Arup, you will provide discipline lead, develop and manage your own projects at an appropriate scale for your skill and experience, and work alongside a community of experts who will support and nurture your growth. You will help deliver effective and professional services across a wide range of sectors for varied, high‑profile clients, and you will be expected to work across the Mid‑West Region and travel to sites via public transport and hire car, requiring a driving licence.
Requirements- A Masters or postgraduate diploma qualification in landscape architecture or a related discipline and Chartered Membership (CMLI) or currently working towards CMLI accreditation.
- Demonstrable professional experience in landscape architecture, with sector experience in areas such as energy, water, transport, infrastructure, commercial development, urban regeneration, residential, education, health, historic buildings and landscape planning strategic policy.
- Ability to understand and respond to the needs of a project brief and share ideas through sketching and hand drawing.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office; GIS (ArcGIS) and 3D modelling software (Revit, Microstation, etc.) would also be advantageous.
- Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams and lead landscape project teams while mentoring and coaching junior staff.
