We are looking for motivated and experienced Senior/Principal Civil Engineers to work on the design of the Hinkley Point C (HPC) and Sizewell C (SZC) nuclear power stations, and our future pipeline of projects. You will provide civil expertise to successfully deliver projects in collaboration with clients, contractors, stakeholders and project teams.
Key responsibilities- Provide technical leadership and team management to deliver work packages effectively.
- Coordinate and communicate on complex engineering problems among project stakeholders.
- Provide technical review and respond to site queries and requested changes in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment to support contractor activities on HPC site.
- Conduct and review analysis of structures carried out in FEM packages (experience with Ansys beneficial).
- Provide technical oversight of reinforcement detailers and review detailing models and drawings.
- Offer expert oversight and technical direction to teams completing the design of reinforced concrete structures.
- Develop strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Support the business development team during the tendering process for future projects.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Chartered with ICE, IStruct
E, or equivalent experience with willingness to obtain Chartership. - Experience using Ansys or equivalent structural FEM software.
- Experience in reinforced concrete calculation and design.
- Familiarity with relevant technical Codes of Practice and Industry Standards (Eurocodes, British Standards, ETC‑C applicable to HPC/SZC).
- Proactive individual who can work collaboratively within a multicultural team.
- Agile and self‑motivated, focused on improving performance and generating innovative solutions.
- Experience working on major infrastructure projects with a track record of delivering high‑quality work packages on schedule.
- Enjoys new challenges, eager to learn, willing to take responsibility and support others.
- Experience working in a highly regulated UK industry, e.g. nuclear.
