Senior Acoustic Consultant

An established consultancy known for its expertise in acoustic design and sustainable engineering is seeking a Senior Acoustic Consultant to join its Bristol team. This is an opportunity to become part of a forward-thinking, supportive group working on a broad mix of projects and consistently delivering exceptional acoustic solutions.

Key Responsibilities
Lead acoustic design activities across sectors including education, healthcare, residential, commercial, and performance spaces.
Offer specialist technical advice and ensure designs meet all relevant standards and industry guidance.
Present complex acoustic principles in a clear, accessible way to clients and multidisciplinary teams.
Carry out site inspections, acoustic assessments, and sound insulation tests.
Use modelling software such as CATT, Odeon, INSUL, Cadna/A and Revit.
Contribute to developing improved processes, tools, and methods within the team.
Provide mentorship and support to junior colleagues.
What You'll Bring
A solid grounding in building acoustics and associated regulations.
Experience managing projects across multiple sectors.
Strong communication skills and a client-oriented approach.
Practical site experience, including sound insulation testing.
Familiarity with - or willingness to learn - environmental and acoustic modelling tools.
A collaborative mindset and a passion for sustainable, well-considered design.
A Typical Day Could Include
Working closely with architects, engineers and clients to shape effective acoustic strategies.
Conducting site visits for testing and performance evaluations.
Building and running acoustic models and simulations.
Preparing technical reports and contributing to design documentation.
Sharing knowledge, supporting junior team members and fostering innovation.
Maintaining long-term, positive relationships with clients.
