Position Overview
We’re on the lookout for exceptionally talented individuals with a first-class engineering degree (biomedical, mechanical, aerospace, materials) or similar (physics, data science, maths etc.) to join our Life Sciences team. You will join a team of expert engineers and scientists working on unusual, exciting projects to break new ground in medical devices and biotechnology across European and US markets.
A typical week developing medical technologies might include:
- Planning experiments and designing test rigs (30%)
- Physics-based modelling (e.g. FEA or CFD) and data analysis (30%)
- Ideating and prototyping novel designs (20%)
- Collaborating with clients and university technology labs (10%)
- Reading scientific literature to explore new ideas and techniques (10%)
So if you’re comfortable with at least 50% of the above, you’ll quickly be brought up to speed by the team for the rest.

- Planning and running scientific experiments
- Developing medical devices technology
- Supporting nonclinical, preclinical and clinical studies
- Communicating with other science and technology experts
- Ideating novel tools, methods, and solutions for medical device innovation
- First-class engineering degree or similar (PhD is a bonus)
- Experience in either test rig design and hands-on experiments, or computational modelling (FEA/CFD/math modelling)
- Proactivity and enthusiasm for problem solving and personal growth
- CAD modelling experience
- The ability to communication complex technical concepts to various stakeholders
- Industrial experience in engineering, biomedical technology, or academic research
- Demonstrable impact on projects is more important than number of years’ experience
- Biomedical or clinical work experience
- Familiarity with some form of biomedical imaging (e.g. MRI, CT, or ultrasound)
- Capable of quickly and critically reviewing scientific papers or technical documents
- Coding experience (e.g. Python, Matlab)
