Senior Structural Engineer

A structural engineering consultancy is looking for an experienced structural engineer to join their newest regional office within walking distance of central Bristol.  

This business has done an excellent job recruiting local talent and now requires a structural engineer with building structures experience to bridge the gap between the design team and senior management.

The general remit for this role is flexible depending on experience but in essence it will involve running and delivering projects while acting as the point of contact for technical queries, delegating to the design team and working directly with office lead.

Responsibilities include:

Point of contact for clients, architects and contractors
Supporting the design team on technical queries
Managing a design team of engineers and technicians with their technical duties
Mentoring and assisting the team in the personal journeys
Attending client meetings
Hands on design and project delivery
Monitoring projects from inception through to completion
Technical experience is certainly important however, personality is key as this person will not only be required to inspire members of their design team, but act as an ambassador for the business in the local market.

Projects are focused on a diverse mix of interesting and challenging bespoke building structures, typically ranging up to £30m in value. This is business is proud to hold a place on frameworks for recognisable organisations which directly contribute to developments across the Southwest.

Recent and current sectors include:

Education
Defence
Heritage
Marine
Candidates with an interest in the heritage sector would be of particular interest, however this is not essential. Ideally, we are looking for an engineer who is either chartered or non-chartered with a similar level of knowledge/experience.

On offer:

£50,000 - £60,000 depending on experience
