This role requires you to be based within a 60‑minute commute of Bristol Airport. Applicants must have lived and worked in the UK for a minimum of five years due to the required security clearance.
We are looking for a dynamic Field Service Engineer to support high‑profile clients—including Bristol Airport—across the South West region.
In this role, you’ll work with technology that prevents illegal trafficking of narcotics, weapons, explosives and harmful chemicals, contributing to safer communities worldwide.

As a highly developed Field Service Engineer, you should have broad experience and training in supporting non‑intrusive detection field products.
You should be team‑oriented, flexible, possess advanced electromechanical product training, and be able to conduct operator‑level training for end users.
Solid communication skills, both oral and written, and a strong electronic repair troubleshooting methodology are essential.
You must be cross‑trained on all products in the company’s portfolio and capable of servicing customers across the UK.
Willingness to work on high‑visibility special projects and resolve common‑mode problems independently or with a team is required. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other PC applications is essential.
Troubleshooting, installing, deploying and repairing Automated Tray Systems, Explosive Detection Systems, and CT/X‑ray equipment at customer sites is part of your everyday work.
Maintaining a field service log, filing system, and providing technical assistance to the field service community are also duties.
Responsibilities- Meet daily service repair needs and drive customer satisfaction.
- Install, repair and maintain equipment in the field; provide customer training as required.
- Document all inspections, maintenance, and repair work and submit paperwork promptly.
- Order, install, and return parts; manage repair parts cycle time.
- Review logs for open issues and prepare formal reports to customers as necessary.
- Participate in service sales opportunities and assist with promoting revenue programmes.
- Ensure tools and test equipment are properly maintained and calibrated.
- Assess product/equipment performance based on field support data; recommend modifications or improvements.
- Provide technical support to customers and other service professionals as required.
- May participate in site surveys, pilot program service activities, attend meetings, champion special projects, and prepare exclusive reports.
- Possess solid technical knowledge of the company’s products.
- Maintain clear, concise business communication proficiency, both oral and written.
- Establish and maintain a close relationship with senior FSEs and Product Specialists to support customer needs and stay aware of current technical trends.
- Exercise all available measures to control and minimize costs. Travel, overtime and work hours outside of Monday‑Friday may be required.
- Comply with and ensure departmental compliance with company health, safety and environmental policies.

- Relevant degree, ONC, HNC, or equivalent technical training or experience (18th Edition highly desirable). Equivalence through work and life experience is acceptable.
