RF Systems Lead Engineer
We are supporting a leading Defence technology partner in recruiting an experienced RF Systems Lead Engineer.

This role offers the chance to lead advanced data link programmes, shaping technical solutions and guiding a small team of engineers. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop and validate system architecture and oversee work across the full product lifecycle.
In this position, you will take ownership of technical investigations and problem-solving, ensuring designs meet demanding operational requirements. Responsibilities include coordinating suppliers, defining requirements, and managing development activities from concept through verification and validation. Leading junior engineers and working autonomously within a multi-skilled team are essential.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in RF technologies, system-level design, and systems engineering practices. We are looking for some of the following skills:
Managing internal suppliers, and external suppliers
Work package management
Technical leadership of junior engineers
Systems design methodologies
Requirements definition and management
Leading design reviews across the product lifecycle
Overseeing the transition of development hardware into production
Leading technical investigations

Experience with proving and validation
Configuration management
Awareness of simulation tools:
Architecture (SysML) / performance modelling (MATLAB)
Experience working within an international team
Understanding of RF communication principals and design

Location:

Bristol or Stevenage
Salary:
Circa £50,000 per annum
Working pattern:
Hybrid, typically three days on-site per week
Role type:
