Graduate Dev Ops Engineer
Leonardo, located in Bristol, United Kingdom, is looking for a Graduate Dev Ops Engineer to join the Cyber & Security Solutions Division.
What You Will Do- Assist in the setup and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Support source code management, builds, and version control.
- Help monitor system performance, identify issues, and escalate where needed.
- Contribute to patching, updates, and upgrades of development and test environments.
- Maintain and update technical documentation and work instructions.
- Collaborate with colleagues to troubleshoot and resolve routine technical issues.
- Learn and apply Dev Ops tools, processes, and best practice in secure environments.
- A minimum of a 2:2 Bachelors/Integrated Master’s degree, or a higher degree such as a MSc or PhD in a STEM related subject including Cyber Security.
- A foundation in IT systems, software, or networking with an enthusiasm for learning Dev Ops practices.
- Ability to follow engineering processes, work as part of a team, and apply problem‑solving skills.
- Curiosity and motivation to explore automation, cloud, and modern development practices.
- Awareness of Windows/Linux operating systems.
- Basic understanding of networking principles.
- Knowledge of software development or scripting concepts (Python, Bash, Power Shell).
- Familiarity with version control (Git or similar).
- Understanding of cyber security concepts and secure working practice.
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and automation tools (Git Lab, Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform).
- Awareness of containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure).
- Experience with monitoring or logging tools (ELK, Splunk, Nagios).
- Progress towards IT or Dev Ops‑related certifications (CompTIA, AWS, Microsoft, Cisco).
Roles that lack all of the above are still welcome; a good attitude and willingness to learn are the most important qualities.
Security ClearanceThis role is subject to pre‑employment screening in line with the UK Government’s Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). Additional personnel security controls may apply, such as National Security Vetting (NSV) for The Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV).
LocationBased at one of our UK sites in Bristol (Coldharbour Lane). Hybrid/custom working options may be available where appropriate.
