As a Principal GCP Engineer, you will be a subject‑matter expert delivering ingenious solutions on the Google Cloud Platform. You will set direction and take responsibility for achieving outcomes or deliverables, leading a development team or providing centralized expertise across multiple teams.
- Lead higher‑level architectural discussions and maintain expertise in architecture.
- Own Dev Sec Ops processes across one or more teams, establishing robust principles and patterns.
- Act as a main point of engagement with the client, communicating regularly.
- Coach and mentor the team.
- Shape proposals, working with the bid team, and articulate solutions during formal selection processes.
- Play an active role in technical account management.
- Professional experience – Knowledge of and deep experience in at least one of the following product categories:
- Cloud Functions, Cloud Run
- Kubernetes Engine, Compute Engine
- VPCs, Service Perimeters
- Cloud Spanner, Cloud SQL, Big Query, Firestore
- API Endpoints, Apigee, API Gateway
- Vertex AI, Model Garden, ADK and Agent Engine
- Security Command Centre, IAP, IAM
- Sound understanding of architectural principles:
- Microservices patterns
- Event‑driven architectures and message queues
- Relational and non‑relational databases
- Development and/or scripting experience (e.g., Python, Node, Bash)
- Secure, hardened design
- Desirable:
- Knowledge of other cloud platforms
- Automation Dev Ops experience using Google technologies (Cloud Build, Terraform, etc.)
- Pragmatic and understands the broader scope of cloud engineering.
- Clear communicator with both clients and peers, able to explain technical issues and solutions across all levels.
- Influential and persuasive, capable of engaging senior and specialist client stakeholders without direct authority.
- Confident problem solver and troubleshooter.
- Generous in sharing specialist knowledge, ideas and solutions.
