Babcock International Group is working to create a safe and secure world. As a Chief Technologist – AI you will play a key role on our Ashton Vale, Bristol site, driving innovation across a global customer base, including the Ministry of Defence.

• Lead the development of Mission Systems’ AI strategy, coordinating with the Global Director of AI & Data and the Babcock AI & Data Centre of Excellence.
• Build AI capability within the Software Engineering Discipline and work with the Chief Engineer community to ensure robust assurance of AI outputs.
• Participate in industry working groups, build strategic relationships with key AI technology partners, and support business development activities.
• Identify opportunities to inject AI into non‑AI projects, promoting and educating colleagues on AI topics.
• Maintain domain expertise through continuous professional development to keep Babcock at the forefront of AI in defence.

• Expert demonstrable experience in AI technologies and system development.
• Experience working in multi‑disciplinary engineering teams, ensuring issues, risks and opportunities are communicated and managed across specialisms.
• Ability to identify opportunities to exploit AI technologies for cutting‑edge solutions.
