Senior Enterprise Architect
Location: Edinburgh and Bristol
Salary range: £90,000 - £106,400
Hours: Full time, 35 hours per week
Working pattern: Hybrid – at least two days (40%) in office.
About this opportunityWe’re looking for a Senior Enterprise Architect aligned to our Commercial Business Area. You bring a track record of building relationships, providing thought leadership, owning technology strategy, and influencing wider group strategies. You’re confident, passionate about architecture, and can build effective relationships up to the executive level.
Responsibilities- Own the enterprise architecture for your focus area and align it with the Group strategy.
- Deliver architecture decisions that empower commercial business teams to achieve the best customer outcomes.
- Partner with the Commercial Platform owners and senior business partners to evolve technology strategies and roadmaps.
- Champion the Bank’s architecture voice, evangelise strategies across enabling platforms, and collaborate with vendors to evolve services.
- Create and maintain architectural artefacts, promote practice, and facilitate delivery of the business roadmaps in an agile environment.
- Open, collaborative style; strong communication and relationship building at all levels.
- Deep understanding of the Commercial business domain, key products, market trends, regulatory and competitor landscapes.
- Strong storytelling and presentation skills.
- Demonstrable experience in technology architecture, including designing systems to meet business needs.
- Broad technology knowledge – domain‑driven models, microservices, event‑driven design, hybrid cloud, cloud providers, Dev Ops, CI/CD, modern data paradigms, cyber security, resilience, sustainability.
- Awareness of emerging technologies (Gen AI, Quantum computing, etc.) and their business applications.
- Proven success in continuous improvement and driving innovation.
- Experience in a regulated financial industry; complex organisations with large customer bases.
