About Lens

Lens Health Technologies is a UK Innovate‑backed startup focused on reducing the administrative burden faced by UK care homes and Special Educational Needs (SEN) schools. We work closely with care homes and schools to build our platform, Focus

AI, which applies state‑of‑the‑art machine learning and AI to fragmented healthcare information, starting with automated reporting. By transforming disconnected, outdated systems into structured, actionable insights, we help care homes and schools:

  • Save time by automating routine and manual data processes
  • Improve compliance through accurate, timely regulatory reporting
  • Make better‑informed decisions to support resident care and operational efficiency
⚒ What you’ll bring
  • Design and Build Scalable Cloud Infrastructure – Architect, provision, and maintain cloud‑native infrastructure that supports AI workloads across compute, storage, networking, and orchestration layers, ensuring systems are scalable, cost‑effective, and resilient for high‑performance training and inference.
  • Ensure NHS Security & Compliance – Meet and maintain NHS security standards and compliance requirements. Design secure, resilient, and auditable systems that safeguard sensitive healthcare data while supporting high‑performance operations and embedding security best practices throughout all workflows.
  • Operate and Optimise Distributed Systems – Build and maintain highly available distributed systems and microservices, ensuring reliability, performance, and fault tolerance while monitoring system health and mitigating operational risks.
  • Implement and Enhance CI / CD Pipelines – Develop, maintain, and improve continuous integration and deployment pipelines for fast, reliable, repeatable delivery of infrastructure and application updates, automating routine tasks to maximize productivity.
  • Leverage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) – Use tools such as Terraform, Pulumi, or Cloud Formation to define, manage, and version infrastructure, ensuring environments are reproducible, auditable, and easy to maintain as the platform evolves.
  • Monitoring, Logging, and Observability – Build and maintain robust monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to deliver full operational visibility, proactively identify issues, optimise performance, and maintain uptime for critical services.
  • Reliability Engineering and Incident Response – Own incident detection, response, and post‑mortems. Implement best practices to improve system reliability, enforce SLAs, and minimise business impact from infrastructure failures.
  • Developer Productivity and Tooling – Build internal tools, platforms, and workflows that streamline R&D processes, enabling teams to focus on developing AI applications with minimal friction.
📈 Desired Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience working as a Dev Ops Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, or Site Reliability Engineer in a real‑world production environment, with responsibility for supporting, scaling, and maintaining mission‑critical systems.
  • Deep expertise with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, GCP, or Azure), including designing cloud‑native architectures, implementing best practices, and managing production workloads in highly available environments.
  • Strong programming or scripting skills in languages such as Python, Go, Rust, or similar, with the ability to automate repetitive processes, build internal tooling, and contribute to infrastructure codebases.
  • Hands‑on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, such as Terraform, Pulumi, or Cloud Formation, with a strong understanding of modular, reusable infrastructure design and version‑controlled environments.
  • Proficiency with containerisation technologies like
