We're recruiting an Interim Head of Digital and Technology to lead purposeful modernisation while keeping our 24/7 digital foundations secure, reliable and resilient. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and sitting on our Extended Leadership Team, you'll have real scope to shape priorities, bring clarity to risk and assurance, and build momentum across the organisation.We reserve the right to close this vacancy once enough suitable applications have been received.

Who we're looking for
This is a senior, high-autonomy role with clear accountability for outcomes that materially affect service delivery and organisational risk. You'll bring:
- Senior digital/technology leadership experience with organisation-wide impact.
- Strong operational IT leadership, including service continuity in complex or 24/7 environments.
- Pragmatic use of recognised frameworks (for example ITIL, PRINCE2 or equivalent).
- Experience translating strategy into clear, prioritised plans and delivering improvements.
- Budget, contract and supplier management with a value-for-money mindset.
- Strong understanding of information governance, data protection and cyber security in regulated environments.
- Experience providing clear assurance on performance, risk and compliance to senior leaders and/or Boards.
- Strong communication and influencing skills, able to explain technical issues to non-technical audiences.
Desirable: experience in healthcare, primary care or a similarly regulated public service environment, and/or understanding of NHS or NHS-adjacent contexts.

Job responsibilitiesWhat youll lead
Youll provide organisation-wide leadership for digital and technology, including:
- Shaping and delivering Bris Docs digital and technology strategy, aligned to organisational priorities and growth ambitions.
- Defining a clear digital, data and technology architecture, backed by a realistic, costed roadmap.
- Keeping Bris Docs infrastructure secure, reliable and resilient, supporting 24/7 service delivery.
- Setting and overseeing service levels across infrastructure, applications and end-user support.
- Leading cyber security arrangements, including relevant accreditations and proactive cyber risk management.
- Ensuring robust information governance, so data is used lawfully, securely and effectively.
- Overseeing the maintenance and development of applications, keeping them supportable, secure and aligned to operational need.
- Ensuring data design and use supports operational insight, performance management and strategic decision-making.
- Managing digital and technology budgets with the Commercial and Finance Director, ensuring value for money.
- Leading suppliers and contracts as an intelligent client, holding providers to account and advising on internal vs third-party delivery.
- Line managing and developing digital, data and technology colleagues, and building strong working relationships across clinical, operational and corporate teams.
We have in-house expertise and also draw on specialist external suppliers for expert infrastructure development.
Person Specification Knowledge, Skills and experience- Significant experience operating at a senior professional or leadership level within data, digital and technology functions
- Proven track record of leading and delivering data, digital and technology improvements with organisation-wide impact
- Strong operational IT leadership experience, including responsibility for service continuity in complex or 24/7 environments
- Experience applying recognised service management and project delivery frameworks (e.g. ITIL, PRINCE2 or equivalent)
- Demonstrable experience managing data, digital and technology budgets, contracts, and supplier relationships
