Cleaning Operative - City Hall

Salary: £12.60 per hour
Hours:
15 hours per week, Monday‑Friday (06:00–09:00). If interested in more hours we have multiple vacancies and could offer different sites to increase weekly hours.
Location:
City Hall, Bristol
Purpose of the Role:
Undertake cleaning tasks and create and maintain a quality standard of cleaning to the agreed specification within set time limits.
- Vacuum and mop all flooring to maintain cleanliness and ensure a safe, slip‑free environment.
- Dust and wipe down all surfaces, including windowsills, handrails, and other high‑touch areas such as door handles and staircases.
- Thoroughly clean and disinfect all washroom facilities, including toilets, sinks, taps, fixtures, and tiled areas.
- Clean shared kitchen spaces by wiping down countertops, cupboard fronts, and cleaning sinks to a hygienic standard.
- Clean the lift, including mirrors, walls, floors, and frequent touchpoints such as buttons and handrails.
- Empty bins, dispose of waste and recycling, and replace bin liners.
- Restock cleaning supplies and toiletries (e.g., hand wash, toilet paper).
- Order stock via the Team Leader.
- Use the correct cleaning products on site.
- Identify and report all safety issues to the Team Leader.
- Comply with all safety policies and procedures related to carrying out cleaning tasks.
- Store all cleaning equipment safely.
- Store cleaning chemicals safely.
- Liaise regularly with your Team Leader and report any information or service issues.
- A can‑do attitude with the willingness to learn new skills.
- Physical fitness for walking, bending, etc.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Time‑management skills.
- Good spoken level of English.
- Strong interpersonal and problem‑solving abilities.
- Highly responsible and reliable.
- Ability to work alone and as part of a team.
