About The Role

Monday to Friday, 22:00 – 05:00. As a Train Cleaner Team Leader, you will oversee a team of cleaners ensuring efficient and thorough cleaning of trains, maintaining appearance and cleanliness to the highest standards while adhering to safety protocols and industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and motivate a team of train cleaners, including scheduling, task assignment and providing guidance and support.
  • Oversee cleaning of train interiors and exteriors (seats, floors, windows, restrooms, common areas) to meet company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain inventory levels of cleaning supplies and equipment, reporting shortages to the Facilities Manager.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure cleanliness, hygiene, and safety standards are met, taking corrective actions as necessary.
  • Train new team members on cleaning procedures, safety protocols and equipment operation, providing ongoing coaching.
  • Ensure the team follows all safety guidelines and protocols, including use of PPE, to prevent accidents.
  • Maintain accurate records of cleaning activities, supplies usage, and incidents, preparing reports for the Facilities Manager.
  • Collaborate with other departments to address customer complaints related to cleanliness, ensuring a positive passenger experience.
Qualifications
  • Applicants must have the right to work in the UK.
  • Proven experience in a similar role, with supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of cleaning products, equipment and techniques.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as needed.
