Warehouse Shift Manager

As a Shift Manager, you'll play a vital role in the smooth running of our coldstore operations, ensuring that our stock moves efficiently and safely. You'll be responsible for leading a team, managing resources, and delivering on performance targets.

• Team Leadership & Engagement – Lead and motivate a team of operatives, creating a culture of accountability, teamwork, and high performance.
• Days and Evenings Operations Management – Oversee end-to-end operations including cross-docking, stock flow, and warehouse coordination.
• Planning & Resource Allocation – Develop shift plans and assign duties to ensure timely and effective completion of tasks.
• Performance Monitoring – Use the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to track inventory accuracy and identify discrepancies before they become issues.
• Health, Safety & Compliance – Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and safety. Lead accident investigations and ensure all procedures are followed.
• Operational Reporting – Maintain accurate shift reports and provide regular feedback to site leadership.
• Cross-Shift Collaboration – Ensure smooth shift handovers and consistent performance across the 24-hour operation.
• Employee Development – Conduct regular reviews and coach your team to support growth and development.

• Proven experience in warehouse or coldstore operations, ideally with supervisory or shift management responsibilities.
• Strong understanding of warehouse safety, stock control, and team leadership.
• Proficient with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
• Clear communicator with the ability to engage and align teams.
• Calm under pressure, with a solution-focused mindset.
• Comfortable working in a coldstore environment (approx.
  
  -20°C – PPE provided).
• A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
• MHE licence is desirable but not essential.

Location:

Bristol depot. This role operates Monday to Friday on a rotating shift pattern, with one week on each of the following shifts: 06:00‑14:00 and 14:00‑22:00. You will also be required to cover weekends on a rota basis. When scheduled to work a weekend, you will receive days off during the week in lieu.
