Join our NICU Team as a Staff Nurse

We are excited to invite a compassionate and dedicated Staff Nurse to join our dynamic Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) team. This is a great opportunity to make a meaningful impact in neonatal nursing, working within one of the most respected NICUs in the South West.

Our NICU is a Level 3 Tertiary Centre, one of only three in the South West neonatal network, where we provide expert care for babies with complex needs, including respiratory, surgical, neurological, and cardiac conditions, as well as pre-term and full-term infants. You’ll be joining a highly skilled and experienced multidisciplinary team (MDT), comprising nurses, nursery nurses, medics, consultants, and allied healthcare professionals. We are dedicated to ongoing professional development, offering a wide range of opportunities, including university-accredited courses and in-house training for specialist roles.

Main duties of the job
  • Assess, plan, deliver and evaluate prescribed treatment and care for patients and their families
  • Communicate effectively and maintain confidentiality with patient’s carers and the multi disciplinary team
  • Act as a professional role model setting standards of practice
  • Promote clinical effectiveness and opportunities for teaching junior colleagues and students
  • Promote and maintain a safe environment for patients.
  • Administer medicines in accordance with Trust policy.
  • Develop clinical skills and participate in continuous professional development
  • Provide accurate timely contemporary records of care and treatment in line with Trust record keeping policy and NM
