Graduate/ Seasonal Ecologist (2026 Programme)

Join SLR Consulting as a Graduate/ Seasonal Ecologist in our Ecology and Biodiversity team. The role involves ecological desk studies, field surveys, and protected species mitigation for various development projects across the UK and Ireland.

• Assist with ecological desk studies and field surveys for proposed development projects.
• Carry out habitat surveys, identifying and differentiating habitat types in the field.
• Conduct fauna surveys, including reptiles, otters, badgers, bats, birds, and other wildlife.
• Collect and manage ecological data, keeping accurate field notes and using SLR’s project management software.
• Prepare basic report writing, data entry and support general office tasks, including maintaining ecological survey equipment.
• Apply and communicate wildlife legislation and policy to colleagues, clients and contractors.
• Adhere to health and safety procedures and maintain a professional, safe working environment.
• Travel to project sites as required, potentially working in all weathers and remote locations. Long field days may occur.

• Recent graduate or final‑year student in ecology or a related field.
• Full UK or Irish driving licence.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a willingness to learn.
• Commitment to producing high‑quality work as part of a team.
• Interest in ecological consultancy and career development.
