Security Controller

Location: Bristol, UK
Compensation: £50,000 - £60,000 / year
Key Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and maintain Rowden’s Security Management System.
- Manage the handling, storage, and destruction of protectively marked materials and government assets.
- Oversee security vetting and clearance management processes.
- Ensure the physical security of Rowden’s facilities.
- Ensure compliance with government standards, laws, and regulations.
- Deliver security training across the business to promote awareness and adherence to best practices.
- Conduct security audits to assess best‑practice adherence and identify non‑conformances.
- Inform senior management of changes to government/MOD security policies and requirements.
- Chair the Security Working Group to drive security improvements across the business.
- Extensive experience in security management within MOD, defence, or other government environments.
- Strong understanding of MOD security frameworks, policies, and best practices.
- Ability to interpret and apply security legislation and compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with teams at all levels.
- Ability to rapidly digest new information and be technically competent.
- Highly detail‑oriented with a proactive approach to security risk management.
- Experience conducting security audits and implementing corrective actions.
- Strong leadership skills to drive a security‑conscious culture across the business.
- A deep understanding of security regulations, particularly within MOD and government settings.
- Ability to influence and educate teams at all levels on security best practices.
- A clear and precise communicator.
- Strong problem‑solving skills, able to assess risks and implement effective controls.
- A commitment to continuous learning and keeping up with evolving security threats.
- Pragmatic and solution‑focused.
