Job Overview
The Security and Parking Officer at North Bristol NHS Trust is responsible for patrolling, incident response, reporting, and maintaining a safe environment across all Trust sites, including the Emergency Department and parking areas. The role includes supporting clinical staff in clinical incidents and ensuring compliance with Trust policies.
Responsibilities- Conduct patrols and respond to incidents on Trust property, including investigations of suspicious behaviours or criminal activities.
- Provide a security presence to support clinical staff and attend clinical incidents, including assisting with the detention of patients under mental health legislation.
- Protect Trust property from malicious damage and theft, promoting a safe, positive environment.
- Accurately record every incident, gather all relevant information, and complete detailed reports.
- Communicate clearly and effectively, listening and empathising.
- Maintain an effective security presence in the Emergency Department areas on a rotational basis, intercepting inappropriate behaviours.
- Assist with fire alarm evacuations and liaise with fire services.
- Uphold and enforce the Trust Parking policy, including cash collections, issuing notices and car park closures.
- Support risk management by identifying risks, implementing controls and reporting uncontrolled risk.
- GCSE or higher in English Language (spoken and written).
- Previous experience in a security role, handling public interactions.
- Valid UK driving licence.
- Ability to undertake the physical and mental demands of the role.
- SIA licence.
- Minimum 2 years security experience.
- Police or military experience.
- Experience working for a large organisation.
- Excellent communicator and people skills.
- Honest, trustworthy and credible.
- Excellent attendance and punctuality.

Full‑time, 37.5 hours per week, shift patterns on a rota basis including days, nights, and weekends.
