5V Tech is working with a unique IoT hardware company on a mission to scale their advanced wearable device used in demanding outdoor environments.

They are searching for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to take a vital role in accelerating firmware development for wireless communication, power optimization, and secure updating features.

This is a rare opportunity to join a company that is getting ready to scale significantly over the next 18 months!

• Design and develop low-power firmware on Nordic nRF platform in an RTOS environment (Zephyr).
• Build robust connectivity features across BLE, LTE-M/NB-IoT, and GPS.
• Optimize power management features to extend battery life in the field.
• Implement diagnostics, logging, and fault-tolerant boot/rollback for field devices.
• Collaborate with embedded, app, and cloud engineers to define protocols and field test strategies.

• A first-principles problem solver, communicates clearly, autonomous and collaborative.
• Strong experience developing embedded systems with modern C++ in a real-time environment.
• Delivery of BLE features in production devices.
• Experience with cellular IoT (LTE-M/NB-IoT), sockets/TLS, and constrained networking.
• Bonus: Experience with Nordic platforms, Zephyr, Bluetooth Mesh, Sensor Fusion.
