Lead​/Senior Software Engineer

My client is a US based software company, operating into the media and entertainment sector. Due to their ongoing success, they are looking for a Lead / Senior Software Developer, based in the UK. This will be working on their existing solutions but mainly focusing on the development of an exciting new product. The company is around 5 years old and during that time it has successfully implemented its software into three of the UK’s major broadcasters.

You will be a problem solver, with a passion for designing and developing impactful products, you will have an expert level of knowledge of backend languages including Python, Flask, Django, Node, specifically in building and supporting RESTful APIs using Django and Django REST Framework.

The ideal candidate will have a strong eye for driving, designing, creating, and maintaining components of the various backend platforms they work with – including their flagship service around Cloud-based servicing tools. It’s a remote role, so you will need to be able to work as part of a team, but also on your own initiative.

• Backend languages including Python, Django, Flask Node
• Web application architecture best practices and Git development flow
• Full stack of the application (HTML / CSS / JS, REST, Relational Databases such as Postgre
  
  SQL)
• Cloud services such as AWS, GCP, Azure

• Work with the internal engineering team. product manager and internal stakeholders to deliver business requirements into actual development tasks.
• Supervise the daily operations of the development team.
• Manage project risk.
• Set the standards for the engineering team.
• Maintain software quality and scalability.

A background working within the media, broadcast or entertainment sector, would be an advantage but not essential. This is a fantastic time to join this business as they are entering a phase of expansion.
