We’re searching for a Backend Engineer to join our Search Platform team within the Customer Pillar. This team provides Search results to our customers and promotes Just Eat’s partners on the apps and website. Serving millions of requests a day across all JET markets, we operate some of the highest scale, performant services in the business.

Our team operates with agile principles, emphasising flexibility, continuous improvement, and high‑impact collaboration. We engage in sprint planning, daily stand‑ups and retrospectives.

• Own the end‑to‑end software lifecycle from discovery of requirements to operational support in production.
• Develop and maintain high‑performance, reliable services using C#.NET on AWS.
• Implement event‑driven architecture and observability tools such as Data Dog.
• Manage CI/CD pipelines using Git Hub Actions to ensure efficient and reliable software delivery.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with product management and design teams to deliver high‑quality solutions.

• Prior experience working on APIs and a strong interest in C# .NET development.
• Understanding and prior experience with HTTP and RESTful principles.
• Demonstrable foundation in software engineering principles and best practices such as design patterns, microservices and event‑driven architecture.
• Experience developing with AWS, Azure or GCP cloud services.
• Experience using CI/CD pipelines.

  SQL and SQL databases.
• Strong problem‑solving, debugging, teamwork and communication abilities.
• Understanding of Agile methodologies, code efficiency/readability and commitment to test‑driven development.
