Accountant - Brussels

Our client is an international advisory and communications group in  Brussels.

They support organisations across a wide range of sectors, including corporate, institutional and public affairs.
Operating in a highly international environment, the group advises clients on strategic communication, reputation management and complex stakeholder matters.

To strengthen its internal finance function, the organisation is looking to internalise its accounting activities by recruiting an  Accountant  to work closely with senior management.

This is a broad, hands-on accounting position within a fast-paced and demanding environment. You will manage the accounting activities end-to-end and act as a trusted financial partner to management. The role requires autonomy, agility and the ability to anticipate needs in a dynamic organisation.

You will report directly to senior leadership and work in close collaboration with external financial partners.

Key Responsibilities

Manage daily accounting operations (AP/AR, payments, journal entries)
Ensure accurate monthly management accounts and year-end closings
Monitor cash flow and financial performance
Prepare financial reports and support internal decision-making
Contribute to budgeting and forecasting processes
Ensure compliance with local accounting standards and audit requirements
Coordinate with external partners for audit and selected finance activities
Drive efficiency and automation of accounting processes

Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent through experience
Solid experience covering the full accounting cycle in an autonomous role
Comfortable working in an international and English-speaking environment
Hands-on, pragmatic and solution-oriented
Able to prioritise effectively in a fast-changing context
Confident communicating with non-financial stakeholders
Proactive mindset, able to challenge and anticipate rather than simply execute

Languages & Systems

English is mandatory (working language)
French or Dutch is required at a professional level
Good digital literacy; experience with accounting tools and automation projects is an asset
