The Opportunity
Join our dynamic team as a Transport Manager. This is a pivotal role in ensuring that our personal care and amenities products meet market demand while maintaining a targeted service level of 95%+.
You will blend disciplined analytical approaches with a deep understanding of international, regional and national freight, carrier types, modals and rate trends, regulatory nuances, and market dynamics specific to our industry. Your innovative approach and collaboration across internal teams will drive efficiency, customer satisfaction, and supply chain performance, ensuring that our products remain in sync with evolving consumer needs.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and implement transportation strategies that optimize cost, efficiency, and service levels across domestic and international routes.
- Oversee relationships with carriers, freight forwarders, and third-party logistics providers to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and performance standards.
- Ensure adherence to transportation regulations, customs requirements, and safety standards in all operating regions.
- Manage transportation budgets, monitor expenses, and identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising service quality.
- Track KPIs such as on-time delivery, freight cost per unit, and carrier performance; implement corrective actions as needed.
- Develop contingency plans for disruptions, including alternative routing and emergency response strategies.
- Work closely with supply chain, procurement, and warehouse teams to align transportation activities with overall business objectives.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. A master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CITT, APICS, or CSCMP) is an asset.
- Minimum 5–7 years in transportation or logistics management, with proven success in managing large-scale operations and carrier negotiations.
- Strong understanding of transportation modes (road, rail, air, ocean), freight forwarding, and customs clearance processes.
- Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), ERP platforms, and data analytics tools for route optimization and cost analysis.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team of coordinators, and logistics specialists in a fast-paced environment.
- Skilled in resolving transportation delays, capacity constraints, and compliance issues quickly and effectively.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and advanced knowledge of TMS and ERP systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with internal teams, external partners, and regulatory authorities.
- Strong data analysis skills to interpret transportation metrics and drive continuous improvement.
