Senior Accountant – AP & Inventory Control (Burnaby, BC)

About the Role:We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to take ownership of our Accounts Payable and Inventory Control functions. Reporting to the Controller, you will be a key player in ensuring financial accuracy, optimizing cash flow, and streamlining our inventory processes. This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys a mix of technical accounting, cost analysis, and cross-departmental collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the full-cycle AP process: review, verify, and process vendor invoices.
- Optimize cash flow by scheduling payments and managing vendor relationships.
- Ensure tax compliance and maintain the AP sub-ledger to GL reconciliation.
- Prepare month-end accruals and support audit requirements.
- Maintain precise inventory records and perform regular cycle count reconciliations.
- Analyze variances and ensure accurate inventory valuation for financial reporting.
- Manage cost accounting, pricing updates, and inventory-related reporting.
- Investigate discrepancies and implement corrective actions to improve accuracy.
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual GST/HST & PST filings.
- Perform bank reconciliations and manage inter-company transactions.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
- Identify and implement process improvements for AP and inventory workflows.
- Prepare financial and cost accounting reports for management review.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. A CPA designation (or being near completion) is highly preferred.
- Experience: 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, specifically focusing on AP and Inventory.

Proficiency in SAP Business One (SAP B1) is a significant asset. Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs) are required. - Mindset: Strong analytical skills, a high level of accuracy, and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
