Acuren is currently recruiting for a Phased Array Technician (Lead) to support work in the Pacific Region. If you are seeking a dynamic industrial environment with opportunities for individual growth and learning, this is for you.
Based out of the Richmond office providing support to various client sites and projects throughout the lower mainland. Candidates must be local to Vancouver area or willing to relocate. CA $52.81 to CA $57.36/ hr based on certifications.
Responsibilities- Perform advanced ultrasonic inspections on welds, materials, and components to detect internal flaws, discontinuities, and corrosion.
- Configure and calibrate equipment, including setting appropriate probe angles and scan parameters.
- Interpret A-scan, B-scan, and S-scan data to assess structural integrity in accordance with relevant standards.
- Accurately document inspection results, noting defect type, size, location, and severity.
- Prepare detailed reports that comply with applicable codes (e.g., ASME, API) and client specifications.
- Communicate findings clearly to engineers, QA/QC teams, and clients, recommending corrective actions when necessary.
- Develop or adhere to detailed scanning procedures based on applicable industry codes and client requirements.
- Select appropriate probe types, wedges, and scan plans to ensure reliable and comprehensive inspection coverage.
- Maintain and verify PAUT equipment, including probes, wedges, and calibration blocks, to ensure optimal functionality.
- Perform routine software and hardware checks and ensure compliance with manufacturer and company requirements.
- Conduct supplementary NDT techniques such as UT (conventional), MT, PT, and RT as required.
- Evaluate and interpret results to determine compliance with specifications and identify any non-conformances.
- Ensure all inspections meet industry standards, client requirements, and internal procedures.
- Support quality assurance initiatives and contribute to maintaining high inspection standards.
- Work closely with project teams, engineers, and inspectors to coordinate inspection activities.
- Provide technical insight and support to promote asset integrity and operational reliability.
- Follow all site-specific and corporate safety protocols rigorously.
- Contribute to a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement in NDT practices.
- Valid PAUT Certification (CGSB, CSWIP, or PCN)
- CGSB Level 2 UT certification
- Additional CGSB Certifications are an asset
- Strong work ethics
- Ability to maintain positive working relations with clients
- Exceptional safety and quality awareness
- Ability to solve problems and manage time effectively
- Self-motivated and capable of working at a high technical and performance level
- Valid driver's license
- IRATA training or willingness to obtain is an asset
