Maintenance and Reliability Co‑op Student (8‑month term) at Trans Mountain
, located at the Burnaby Terminal, British Columbia, Canada. The position begins in May 2026 and runs for 8 months, with an option to extend to 12 months.
Trans Mountain Corporation operates Canada’s only pipeline system that transports oil products to the West Coast through more than 1,150 km of pipeline across Alberta, British Columbia and Washington. The company also operates the Westridge Marine Terminal and is committed to operational and safety excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Support maintenance planning by reviewing and organizing work orders to improve scheduling and reduce downtime.
- Assist with task coordination to group similar maintenance activities, increasing field‑work efficiency.
- Create and update procedures and work packages for maintenance tasks, improving tracking and reporting.
- Contribute to schedule development by identifying tasks requiring special planning (e.g., equipment shutdowns) and aligning them with operational timelines.
- Develop handover protocols between shift trades to improve communication.
- Track lubrication schedules, calibration needs, sampling and testing routines to support equipment care programs.
- Collect and analyze data on equipment usage and maintenance trends to generate performance reports.
- Manage spare parts inventory by reviewing stock levels and identifying frequently used items.
- Enrolled in a post‑secondary engineering programme (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or Petroleum) in the 2nd or 3rd year.
- Previous industrial or field experience is an asset.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, Teams).
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Self‑motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- High regard for safety and operational integrity.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence.
- Travel between Burnaby and Westridge Terminals and occasional off‑site training or meetings.
Pay range: $26.69 – $36.31 CAD per hour.
