Detailed OverviewIn accordance with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) standards and Fraser Health values, the Registered Nurse provides direct patient care in an acute medical unit. The RN assesses, plans, and evaluates nursing care to provide person-centered care.
ResponsibilitiesEducation, Training & Experience
Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current registration as a Registered Nurse. Completion of Cardiology component of Post Basic Critical Care course or equivalent, plus one year recent experience in cardiac monitoring or telemetry unit. Current Basic Rescuer Certificate.
Skills and Abilities
- Clinical proficiency in the designated clinical area.
- Ability to complete patient assessment and provide nursing care through interventions.
- Effective communication with patients, families, public, medical staff, and team.
- Promote person-centered care demonstrating empathy and sensitivity.
- Integrate and evaluate data from multiple sources to problem solve effectively.
- Teach and instruct patients and families about essential health topics.
