Neighbourly Pharmacy is looking for a full-time Pharmacy Assistant to join our team at Neighbourly BC Central Fill Solutions in Burnaby, BC.
Availability to work between 7am to 7pm, Monday through Saturday, is required.
Responsibilities- This role is responsible for performing specific central fill functions as outlined by provincial regulations and standards of practice
- Assemble prescription medications in compliance with the company's quality and productivity standards
- Assemble the products continuously and repetitively in a clean environment
- Pulling, counting, labelling, and compounding prescriptions
- Preparation of compliance packaging for LTC homes
- Operation of automated packaging equipment
- Inventory, ordering, processing, and receiving
- Preparation of orders, checking and fixing packaging before delivery
- Handle small materials for assembly
- Keep the workplace clean, neat, and professional
- Carry out checks to ensure the quality of the work done
- Identify problems and causes related to production and notify your supervisor
- Propose continuous improvement methods
- Ensure manufacturing process efficiency and accuracy
- Requisition of supplies and materials
- Perform production processes both accurately and timely
- Prepare production reports
- Manage operation machinery aligned with the computer system
- Provide strategic solutions to ensure production objectives are met
- Miscellaneous tasks to support the Pharmacy Manager, Pharmacists, and central fill operations
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly relay information, instructions, and updates to pharmacists, technicians, and store contacts
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to quickly identify issues and determine appropriate next steps
- Ability to troubleshoot workflow or order discrepancies and use sound judgment to decide when escalation to a supervisor or manager is required
- Ability to work effectively with pharmacists, technicians, and administrative staff in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment
- Proficiency with pharmacy management software (Kroll), inventory systems, and communication platforms
- Ability to learn and follow Central Fill workflows, packaging processes, and documentation requirements
- Hands‑on experience with, or willingness to learn Syn Med and BD Parata Ultra automated dispensing/packaging systems
- Ability to identify and escalate technical or mechanical issues to technicians, vendors, or supervisors when needed
- Consistent adherence to SOPs to ensure medication packaging accuracy and system reliability
- Strong sense of accountability and willingness to take ownership of assigned tasks
