Position Overview:
As a member of the Applied Physics team, you will contribute to the development of our magnetized target fusion (MTF) power plant. The Plasma Physicist will aid in the analysis of our experimental campaigns, develop models that reconcile experimental results with simulation, and help to inform the direction of future development.
The ideal candidate is self-motivated, has strong communication skills and can stay focused on goals while operating in a fast-paced development environment. They would possess the drive required to work on difficult problems, are excited by alternative and innovative solutions, and are comfortable with working both independently and within a team.
The candidate should have significant experience in modeling magnetized plasma, as well as interpretation of real experimental data in the context of computational models.

The typical hiring range for this position is $117,000 - $142,000. General Fusion considers several factors when determining total compensation, including job-specific or highly specialized knowledge, skills, and experience, proficiency, job location, and internal equity.
The work involved in this project combines a wide range of skill sets, and each team member will need to become familiar with the full scope of the experiment and understand how their work relates to the whole. General Fusion seeks individuals who are self-motivated, have good communication skills and are comfortable with creative problem solving independently and within a group.
