Hours:

35 hours/week Rate: $29/hour Term:
One-year

The Lower Mainland Purpose Society is seeking a Youth Outreach Worker to join our Integrated Youth Services team. This is a one-year term position at 35 hours per week until March 31, 2026, with the potential to shift to 28 hours per week thereafter. The term may be extended based on performance and funding availability.

The Youth Outreach Worker will provide person-centered, trauma-informed support to youth with diverse and complex needs. The role involves building trusting relationships, coordinating individualized service plans, and collaborating closely with community partners. The successful candidate must demonstrate emotional resilience and the ability to manage stressful and crisis situations effectively.

JOB DESCRIPTION
  • Provide one-to-one outreach and mentorship to youth experiencing mental health challenges, substance use concerns, complex developmental/behavioral needs, and/or involvement in high-risk activities.
  • Conduct assessments and develop individualized, strengths-based service plans with youth and familiesli>
  • Facilitate life skills development individually and in group settings.
  • Engage in ongoing community outreach to increase youth access to services.
  • Collaborate with families, schools, health providers, justice partners, and community agencies to ensure coordinated, holistic support.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with agency and COA standards.
  • Demonstrate strong judgment, professionalism, and emotional resiliency.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, human services, child & youth care, psychology, social work, criminology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience supporting youth and/or families in community or outreach settings.
  • Knowledge of adolescent development, mental health, and systemic barriers affecting at-risk youth.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, organization, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary and community-based settings.
  • Class 5 driver’s license and reliable vehicle required.
  • Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable Sector) required.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to meet client needs, including evenings; anticipated schedule is Monday to Friday from 10:30am-6pm
