We are seeking a SDET to join our Software Verification Team, where you’ll play a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and safety of manufacturing jigs, developer tools, and the clinical workstation powering our life-saving medical device.

Please note, this opportunity is a hybrid work arrangement, located in Burnaby, BC.

Meaningful work you will be a part of

Your responsibilities will be to:

Design and execute verification and validation activities for software development tools, manufacturing jigs, and the Windows configuration for the clinical workstation

Develop test plans and assist with the automation of test cases that verify software requirements

Identify, analyze, and report software defects and issues, and work with the development team to resolve them

Contribute to the design and improvement of the Windows software configuration (Windows Image), integrating customer and production feedback

Participate in code reviews and help maintain the quality and reliability of test automation code

Collaborate with development teams to review and improve software requirements

Hands‑on validation of production jigs and collaboration with development teams to drive improvements

Develop scripts to improve processes for updating and deploying Windows configuration changes

Ensure the clinical workstation complies with cybersecurity guidelines from regulatory authorities

Become familiar with medical device software standards, cybersecurity guidelines, and testing best practices

What you bring to the team

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science

2+ years of experience with software verification and validation testing

Experience with writing specifications, test protocols, and test reports

Keen interest in software test automation

Experience using test automation tools and frameworks is an asset

Proficiency in Python, Power Shell, or other scripting languages

Familiarity with C# and Java is an asset

Foundational understanding of electronics and circuits

Knowledge of hardware components in manufacturing jigs

Enthusiasm for PC hardware and Windows configuration work

Knowledge of cybersecurity fundamentals is an asset

Familiarity of CI/CD tools like Team City is an asset

Awareness of medical device regulatory requirements and standards such as IEC 60601 is preferred

Ability to work independently in a multi-disciplinary team

Excellent communication and documentation skills

Positive and proactive attitude with the ability to execute tasks with an appropriate level of independence

Enthusiastic about seeking innovative solutions to unforeseen challenges

Flexibility and adaptability to take on additional responsibilities as appropriate
